Title: Ordering Coilovers sometime in the next few days ... help plz!
Post by: LazyLunatic on 21 May 2008, 01:37
Ok, got the money waiting in the bank. Paypal is ready. So i can buy some coiles!!!!

Where to order from? I was going to use ebay, but which seller,    hottuning_eu    or     uk no1 tuning
I was going to email the company/person and do a deal out of ebay, for £150
I remember someone on here just emailed them abot the group buy for £150 and asked whether they could have a set for that price and they said YES!!! So that is my plan to get cheap coilovers.

Ok, so once they are ordered, i need to get others bits worth replacing - i was told to get VR6 top mounts. Are these the rubber thingys that you can see in the engine bay/boot on top of the suspension?
Anything else that is really worth the money/hassle of replacing?

FITTING: Should be OK to fit, any online guides anyone knows about on how to remove suspension and fit coilovers. Or is it one of things where if you put your mind to it and put the time in you can figure it out?
Anything i need to worry about when doing all of this. i.e. a common mistake that could have bad consequences.

Sorry for all the questions, etc. Hopefully i can some of it answered. I just typed every question i could think of to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

A big THANKS in advance for any help you can give.

LL ;)

email hottuning directly as its them who seem to give best deals..... and regarding topmounts. as long as there replaced everything should be fine but the vr6 ones are heavier duty (and longer lasting?) but I'm not sure if yours will need them?? normal gti mounts will be uprated allready for your motor....
and fitting..try the maintenence section as theres a few links on coilover fitting
