So... I wish to build a mk2 TD mutant...
I have an AAZ engine & gearbox from a mk3.... and I have been offered a straight mk2 1.3 at silly money...
presumably the 1.3 will have a different subframe to to what I need? are sub frames interchangable ? all the ancilleries & electrics & plumbing & other gubbins I can handle - its just mounting the motor & gearbox that concerns me...
presumable I can just swipe the sun frame from a gti (with ARB ) and bolt it all up after a good clean & rebuild? I 'd be wanting to use 5 bolt hubs & rear beam anyway... so I know many many parts to be replaced.

I think all the sub frames are the same. All golfs have the same mounts (well the MK2/3 are deffo the same)
One at the back to the left for the engine, the main front mount for the engine and gearbox and then the rear right for the far right of the gearbox.
Should all be the same?!?

Ok... so I could then in theory just use the existing subframe and it would be easy to add the ARB to it?
I'm basically planning in using mk3 16v running gear - is this also a straight up fit?
cheers
