Title: a job i wish i hadnt started

started strippin the 8v down this week while it was hot!
was doin some work on my other car and tought id just take a few bits off and clean em!

1 air filter was covered in some oily sh*t
2 throttle body was full on grease and black oil
3 oil breather pipe was blocked solid with oil and mayo
4 oil breather (space saucer) was full of mayo
5 rocker full of black caked oil especially the filter in the top

does any one know how to clean this filter in the rocker cover its solid!

so its not been a good find it mayo and all. plus was havin a smoke and pulled of a fuel line ..... whoops!!!!

Just sounds normal to me - scrape it off best you can, some of the stuff on the rocker can be really caked on.

Normally for cleaning I'd go with petrol/paraffin or carb/brake cleaner denpending on what area you're doing. Not sure about the filter in the rocker - replacing it might be a good idea.
