Ohhh pretty! What equipment did you use, and where'd you get it from?
-
i used the following
Autobrite Foam Lance with Snowfoam
Poorboys Super Suds and Sonus Wash Mitt
Meguairs Hot Rims for the wheels
Meguiars Super Degreaser for the tyres and wheel arches
Sonus Green Clay with Meguairs Last Touch
Prima Swirl Remover
Clearkote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze
Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection
Collinite 915
Autoglym Glass Polish
Poorboys Natural Look for the valences
Meguiars Endurance Gel
and a silly amount of mircofibre cloths
bought from a mixture of Elite Car Care, Clean Your Car, Serious Performance and even Halfords!!
i think thats everything
EDIT- just seen a reply on your DV thread - you're going to need more than £20

What would I be looking at, just to get the swirls out of my bodywork, and bring the colour back out of my paint, and make it shiny and metallic looking again?

sign up here

and put a shout out for a detailer in your area.
Pay a few pounds for a pro to remove the swirls :afro: or you can invest in a machine like the Meguiars G220 but you need all the polishes and pads etc to go with it. you can do a fair bit by hand but it will take ages and you won't be happy with the finish. My advice is to get your car detailed and then spend some money on products which will maintain the finish
I had mine detailed last year - http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=39185.50

nice work, had planned on doing mine this weekend, but its not stopped raining all day

cheers mate
i thought it was going to piss down the moment i started as its been cloudy all day; luckily for me the rain held off and it turned into a perfect day - bit or warmth but no direct sunlight
going to do the engine bay tomorrow and then the inside
-
Cheers mate, as usual you come up with the goods! How much was your detailing?
Previous owner had my Golf for 9 years, looks like he cleaned it every week with pan scrubbers and wire wool!!
-
i went to a body spray garage and they said they could buff the swirls out 45 pound using G40 pollish , havent took them up on that yet

mine was £120 and worth every single penny  its one of the best 'mods' you can do :afro:
-
Yeah it looks amazing, definitely worth the money, makes the car look practically like new again!
I've joined that forum, gotta wait until they activate my account. Then I get put a shout out for a detailer in Manchester :)

good man but i should have warned you that you need deep pockets!! Detailing is a slippery slope
it starts out with a couple of wash mitts and buckets and before you know it you're spending vast amounts on polishes, waxes, cloths, pressure washers and foam lances
-
Looking good rhys  rich is going to do mine soon i hope cant wait

eed t get teh swirls out as well, but i know what you mean once you hear about some awsome cleaning product you go buy it and love it and then £Â£Ã‚£ later you got a whole collection, mines gradually getting bigger  was looking at the Meguiars G220 prob a good investment rather than paying out however much each tiem you want to get it done

mmmmm.... hubba...
nice work Rhyso
915 is a goodun... have you tried lime prime followed by jetseal 109
i'm thinking of trying the following after my next swirl removal session... lime prime followed by jetseal 109 and then either CC50/50 wax or collinite 915 or 845
don't you love the way that PB natural look smells of bubblegum??

Where did you get the "Prima Swirl Remover" bud and how much?
-
Where did you get the "Prima Swirl Remover" bud and how much?
urm think it was Serious Performance
in all honesty i wouldn't buy it unless you got a machine polisher mate - it killed my arms using it with a foam pad today and i don't think i got great results - the glaze and wax tend to hide a lot of the damage :lipsrsealed:
its like a swirl / paint cleanser but if i was buying again i'd go for the Dodo Juice Lime Prime :afro:
