I just thought that you all might want to get yourself a bargain. While looking around ebay i noticed this little steal:

What a bargain!! Who are these people who bid! , do they endless amounts of cash to waste on that essential part for their mk1's. My entire GTI didnt cost much more, God knows how much it will finally go for.

its expensive because only the mark 1 campaigns had the leather bound steering wheel .

i guess if your desperate for the part u will pay what u have to  :-\

Yup I agree, anything is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. To be honest though, when I first read this thread I was expecting something to be going for thousands, if you needed a steering wheel to finish off a project then it would be worth it.

I know the campaign leather steering wheels are quite rare but come on, ?117+!! im sure you could get a standard GTI steering wheel trimmed in leather for that. Sorry but i have seen campaign steering wheels sell for a lot less

Depends on how bad someone wants it, with them being rare they may find one next week for ?50 or not find another one for 12 months or ever again, chance they take I suppose. If I wanted one really badly I'd probably close my eyes and try to buy it.

ebay is amazing. i will never understand why some car parts (that are the same) sell for such different prices. I think some people just dont have the time to search for parts they need.

Sometimes its much cheaper and easier to ring your local scrappy or VW specialist for parts. However i suppose ebay is still useful for finding that illusive final part

I own a campaign minus the original wheel, but I wouldn't quite strectch to this sort of price for one, especially when we are so close to Inters + others. And especially as I managed to pick up an MOT'd MK1 for ?104 on Ebay.
Another car vs steering wheel?  ???
