Title: A/C: Questions....

I got a Golf Mk2 with pierburg 2E carburetor inside , as i turn on the a/c the engine rpm comes down to half , some one says its depends on your carburetor piping , does any one knows how should it be ?

A\C generally knocks hell out of the power of the engine because it take so much power to run the damn thing. If I have my aircon on, I generally switch it off to overtake as I need all the power I can get out of my 100 horses Vectra. Unfortunately here in Spain, one needs aircon, but it is expensive to run, especially on a low powered car.
