Title: hiss from turbo?
Post by: gib6107 on 16 May 2008, 09:47
I've just had fans replaced as they were faulty (coming on intermittently with AC on). Now I'm getting a noisy hiss which I think is from the turbo. It used to whistle but now hisses. Does this have anything to do with the new fans/cooling system or is it a separate problem? Maybe something the mechanic has done wrong as it wasn't doing it before!

if he's had the radiator off to change the fans, theres a chance some of the pipe work would have been taken off too, could be that one of the peices hasn't been put back on properly and you've got a boost leak.

have you noticed any power loss / bluey white smoke under acceleration?

No power loss noticeable, nor seen any smoke. Still drives well.
