If you take your car to VW to get the door module fixed you're looking at the following:

V3B4 839 015 A - £78.12  (For the rear pass side door 5dr)

Hours labour - £80!!!

Total of £158.12 + 17.5% vat = £185.79.

If they even mention a 30 minute inspection before hand, tell them to go f*ck themselves if possible :)

noticed something tw@tty happening with the indicators on mine today,

unlock one press = driver door unlocked
unlock two press = both doors unlocked
unlock three  "    = doors and boot unlocked

all the above flash the indicators twice which is normal.(i think)

on locking , some times i get one flash and there all locked , sometimes i get no flash but there all locked , if it dosnt flash but they are locked does this mean the alarm isnt armed? , not too fussed realy as there locking and unlocking everytime and if you lock then unlock a couple of times you can get it to flash the once when you next lock it...

dont think ill be forking out for new door modules till they actually stop locking / unlocking though, just curious as to what single flash means?

When my rear passenger doors are opened the door open warning light comes on and stays on until it's closed. When my front passenger door is opened the door open warning light flashes on and goes out immediately. Because of this the interior light does the same. I don't think the red puddle lights work on either of the doors as I thought these were reflectors. Can anybody advise me of how to fix this fault?

I just went out for another look at the red puddle lights and door open warning light. My car locked my doors open. It didn't seem to be the locks themselves but the latches for the door handles. I've finally got it closed by holding the handle open and opening the latch up with a screw driver. Could this be related to the door module?

my passenger rear has decided to keep popping up, annoying when you have anti hijack lol

Is there a fix for this or is it a replacement job? It's about the only thing I haven't attacked with my spanners yet

I might try it. I'm a dab hand with a soldering iron. But if it doesn't fix it, then I'll have a door apart and no replacement module. Could either drive with a bare door or motorbike it for a day or two.

replaced my door module last week, got it from euro car parts, works just fine but make sure the cable that hooks on the handle is the correct length.i made this mistake, got it all bolted up and when i pulled the handle the door did not want to open.so i took out the blank and swapped the new cable for the old one, what a nightmare this was as i didnt look forward to strip the door again.

also for us peeps with blanks if you wanna reprogram your fob just take out the blank and use a flat screwdriver as your "key" .if you look into the whole where the blank is taken from you can see a recess- round white plastic cap in the door module where the key lock turns left or right.just insert the flat screwdriver to turn for locking or unlocking.still follow the normal process via one key in ignition and so on.
remember to push the lock and unlock on your second fob as you turn the screwdriver "key"

It is the correct length, but alot of people forget to click for forks into the handle. Otherwise it won't open and it appears too long when it's just right.

yo Ant1981,how are you mate?the one i got was way to long, before i swapped them i had the old and new one side by side, just to make sure i didnt do anything wrong, the new one was about an inch longer compared to the old one.even when i set the new one to the max on the handle it still was to long,
maybe i got a dud-one in a million.

Probably the gearing or a position switch in the module didn't go back together properly.

Conformal coating to protect the solder joints. Kind of like a laquer.
