what is the normal rpm for a gti 8v to idle at?
Also forgot to mention my car has a gti owners sticker on the front window near the mirror. Hopefull when i get to post pics up i might be able to get hold of the previous owner.
Also my golf has a full closure alarm/ immobaliser do you normally get slips with theses. I dont have one :( anyone know where i can get one from
-
Should idle somewhere just under 1,000 revs when it's heated up (at least that's what mine does!!)
And if your alarm is thatchems approved you should have a certificate to revify that it's been properly installed (your insurance company might want a copy) if you haven't got one you can go to any alarm installers and they can check out the alarm and, if it's up to scratch, give you a certificate.

phew yeah idles at around 9000rpm 10 at max.
Anyone know where i can get a tip for my exhaust................I know they look sh!tty but i just bought the car and aint got much money and the exhaust is new and will put the insurance up even more than it is. It needs to be twin out to twin upswept if possible.
Help would be appreicated will get pics up soon as!

depends where u live mate
-
the alarm depends on the make/model for insurance.....all later golfs came with an alarm and immobiliser as standard but its not insurance approved!! have a look at the keyfob or alarm box and see what make it is...and if it is aftermarket try a google search for a local fitter and get it recertified
-
Its just a standard volkswagen full closure closes windows and sunroof and has an imbaliser it has 2 buttons left one closes all windows and put alarm on right one is panic button and theres a button on the side anyone know what this is ?
Pics will be up later

They have been changed to blanks which im preety pissed off about and they cut the original wiring instead of just leaving the looms.
Well the side ones work, because they flash when i put the alarm on. But i was playing around yesterday cause they werent working and yes they are blanks :( anyone know where i can get some decent fogs?

-
i thinks thats what they did with mine i was under the bonnet the other day ands theres part of a cold air feed going towards the fan
