As title, driving passed a couple of pubs today at a progressive  rate and had a few people stare, how do Gti's sound when going past you quite quick ?, sporty or diesel dog
-
Do people stare at me? - Only when my flies are undone
Yes, a throbbin' red GTI with carbonfibre eye-candy does attract admiring looks
-
No, not noticed anyone looking at my Ed 30 ..... which is nice actually - but then I did come from a bright yellow S2000
-
I notice a few look.
Mine sounds ok, the Mrs knew I was almost home as she heard me coming - you cant mistake the gear changes of a DSG + milltek when giving it some
-
I get a lot of people looking at mine. I think alot of them dont know what it is, hardly any GTI's up here.
I get all the boy racers looking, women in standard MK5's stare, and middle aged men. Gay boys in the new mini's stare aswell.
Young kids aswell and students love it. I get a lot of people saying "nice car mate" but its mostly men.
Yesterday, after i waxed it, it was getting alot of looks, more than normal

Yes! I know im not in a Gti.. but still its always nice when people nod and mouth the words nice car  i always acknowledge by giving it a little extra throttle as I drive off, always goes down well
-
women throw there knickers and faint      lol

all the time, went out in a mates new mini cooper cabriolet today with the roof down, followed my wife with my mates wife in the edition30 down the motorway, and i have to say it looks the bussiness, those smoked rear lights combined with the Blood red" or as my mate says its very close to the ferrari Red. She looked fanbloodytastic, the pescara's look great whilst in motion, i was really prowd to have one.
i always tend to get looks from the sort of 20-30 age bracket stop and stare, or other Mk5 golf owners especially other Mk5 GTi's as they know what the ed30 is and not just some body coding difference.I will admit when i had my standard GTi, and saw an edition 30 approaching id always point out to the missus or point at it straight away.
Even had a guy today at my local Tesco stop and shop pull up in his New corsa VXR as i was about to pull out, and he said "nice car mate" which was rather pleasing
-
With the amount of GTI's being stolen at the moment, sometimes I feel its better not to stand out too much, if that makes sense?
-
R32UK - I saw a very very very nice looking Mk5 Tornado Red R32 outside the court yesterday. 08 plate and Manual 3-door. The first red one I've seen for real and I was impressed. I spent a lot of time staring!! :nerd:
-
yeah women love it

....Are we still talking about the car?
I find that many girlies love it and squeal with delight when I press the loud pedal

We always get stares in ours......
Heaven knows why though
-
Having only had mine for a week the only words I can say is "IM LOVING IT", belive it or not I've even got a date out of it (well, it certainly wasnt my carm lol). Last week I had a great feeling, coming through Greenwhich on the way home gave her a bit of the beans in first as this chap ran across the road under a red man, i slowed down (obviously) and he was stareing at me (I thought he was going to moan because I was going too fast as he was crossing) as I went past him he shouted throught my window "That is just sexy mate", fooking brilliant !

I know exactly what you mean mate.. Must be a Candy thing..
-
must admit I've noticed more of a chemistry with the ladies on the road since I've had the golf, keeping eye contact, stroking their hair.... might just have to register with datemyplate and cast a net out there to see what I can catch..lol ;) (...and when I say ladies of the road I mean ladies in other cars, not walking the streets looking for trade :P )
-
Trust me on this, the ladies love a TT with the roof down. You get a lot more
pussy on a plate female attention with a convertible!!!

Ladies love convertables full stop!
Its probably safe to say that ladies with hardtops these days are in the minority.
But yes, women do stare more when they see a convertable, use to happen alot when my mate had his 320ci bmw.
-
When it comes to women they always complayn about how stiff the car is and all that sh!t. When they see it the first time they co like: Is this really your car, i like it. But for real, this car aint no chick magnet. Here in Iceland it isnt. The good thing about the stiffness is that the girls want to go some where else and you know where that leads. "Wana come to my place" . The point is, I love it and dont care if you dont like it.

....Does such a site really exist? I wonder what they'd make of my Throbbin' Red VW05 RED!

I don't get as many looks as I used to get in my Mk 4 R32, but still get a few. With the R32 people heard it before they saw it so turned round to see what was coming then admired the car as I drove past!

I will second that... just have to keep the damn thing clean so they dont assume your pants and are as filthy as your ride :undecided:

Hi
I get a lot of stares mainly by under 20's and people who have nice cars themselves.
When I first got it I liked it now it can be a bit of a pain especially if I return to the car in a car park and people are looking around it I find that a bit embarrassing.

Every time I take the car out i get people staring at it whilst i drive by...locally in Gib i think every one is used to seeing the car as it is such a small place but when i take it to spain iv seen some people do some funny stuff...iv had thumbs ups from young kids on bicycles, iv had a boy stop at a green light to tell me "Que guapo ta el coche", which means, how nice your car is, and over in Marbella, Puerto Banus where you see all kind of Ferraris, Porsches etc I had a guy taking pictures of my car...must be something about that Tornado Red
-
Getting more n more looks lately with the hot weather. Must be because i can be arsed to clean the car. Shiny white car + shiny black alloys = chick magnet haha.

Get a few looks, I think it's the 18" Monza's that initially grab a person's attention!

Get an awful lot of lucks in mine. I think it is the combination of the milltek non-res and the candy white. Sometimes I enjoy it but other times I find it slightly embarrasing
-
how is it embarrising??? i find it Great!
-
....Ooops!! I must be a "ricer"! I've got 4 exhaust pipes for a 4-pot engine
-
what's a ricer? :embarassed:
It is a Japanese car owner. Sometimes used for a european car that has had japanese styling :nerd:
-
I love the attention... so far all positive. Candy White obviously makes quite a statement and now the engine and exhaust is starting to bed in it’s starting to sound more rorty... which is all good.
I had almost a week (after detailing) before the car got rained on this time, it’s the most since I’ve had the car. I love white, but you gotta keep it clean.
