Hi Guys,
First post, hello to all :-)
I don't own a GTI (just passed my test and insurance would be toooooo much! so i've got a 1.6 fsi) but would like to replace the wheels with 18" GTI's, but the only place I seem to be able to get them from is ebay but I would like a genuine set, anybody know where I could purchase a set?
I found on a set on http://www.volkswagenspares.com/page...age=New+Alloys but not sure if they are the real deal or not!
Or these from ebay

dsgwagen has an ebay store and usually has good pricing on the Monzas'

Any ideas where I can get a genuine set? Is it a case of ringing my local vw dealer?
-
Genuine wheels from a VW dealer are around £340+vat each!!!!!! (plus the rubber)

Maybe i'll buy one a month

sorry to be a spoil sport, but make sure if you do fit different wheels you tell your insurance co, as its counted as a mod, and if you have an accident your insurance will be invalid. :nerd:
-
the last wheel i would want without warranty is a monza 2 , perhaps and after market item would last better than the originals though
-
I can't believe how expensive they are!
Whats everyone's thoughts on replicas? would they be so bad?

some replicas are ok (according to a few people), but i would be careful as some cheaper rims can buckle easier than a more quality item
-
Makes sense, I mean I'm not a cheapskate! if I had the cash I would get them.
I will get a gti eventually, but until then I just want some shiny Monza's on my fsi :-)
-
you could try montys wheels and tyres as featured in VW driver.
-
Speak to maxamus, he had a set of rep monza's on recently untill some old numpty pushed him into the central reservation, he got the wheels with tyres in total for £600 from a company he knows. Pm him and im sure he'll help you
-
Or The Wheel Man on here, I'm sure he'll do you a good deal.
-
Cheers guys,
Out of interest would 19's fit on an mk5 fsi? I suppose if i'm going to save and spend 1500+ on standard gti wheels, my options have just opened up! So was looking at some BBS wheels, the new Air II CY's look stunning.
Think they are about 500 a piece in the uk

Or might just get some ch 18's if not...
Anyone got the ch in black on theirs?
God all this car business is getting expensive, I only passed my test 2 weeks ago ha! and the debt it piling!
