I HAVE AN ACCRUCY PROBLEM WITH MY MK2 GOLF CLOCKS.THE MILES PER GALLON IS READING 99.9 CONTINUAS,THE TEMP IS OUT,THE DIGITAL READING IS ALSO OUT.
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A WAY TO MAKE THEM MORE ACCURATE.
WOULD IT BE THE SENSORS OR THE CLOCKS THEMSELVES.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED THANKS

I'd say the clocks were kaput. If you know anyone with the same clocks swap them over and see if it cures it that will tell you for defo.

Thought it might be thanks for the addvice

Clean up the earth normally found on top of the head at the back to the right if you're looking into the engine bay. The 99.9 may also be due to a disconnected/split vacuum hose that goes to the clocks.

the mpg drops if i floor it but at cruising it risesback up. the earths are all clean

COuld still be a small leak in the vacuum hose though. I'd rather give it a go than get some new clocks

just checked the vac pipe in the bay and just pulled the clocks i put a vac tester on in and it dont drop. its a pain i only wont it to work cos its there i like every thing to work as it was intended
thanks for all the help
