Hello all,
First post! I have a mkv gti which has just come to the end of its warranty so I'm thinking about remaps and exhaust upgrades.
I'm probably going to go for the Revo map, however, I'm unsure about which Milltek exhaust to choose: either the 'Hi-Flow Sports Cat and Downpipe' or the 'Cat-back - Non-resonated'
Can anyone explain the difference?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum
Cat-back exhaust will give you only a small increase in power (if at all) and is basically the bit of the exhaust after the catalytic converter.
Full Turbo-back exhaust is an exhaust that includes the downpipe from the turbo, a free flow sports catalytic converter section and the cat-back exhaust section. This will give you good power gains when combined with a remap and also sharpens up the throttle response. Recent Rolling roads suggest between 12 and 20 bhp.
The exhaust can be resonated (quieter) or non-resonated (louder)
The Milltek systems are very high quality - I should know as I have a full turbo-back one

Good description Hurdy, I was wondering the same

Thanks for the info
Any suggestions on the best/cheapest place to get the full turbo-back system for self-fitting?

Roadrunner motorsport in Nottingham - they have an ebay shop too.
Due to the saving it helped make the decision for me and I splashed out on the full turbo back system.

If your looking for both I would advise calling them for a single shipping price. I visited the shop, paid cash and got a little more knocked off.
