is it 1 year ?

good question!
I think it may also be linked to covered mileage but don't know for sure.

mileage isnt an issue, just wondered how long the warranty is on it

Exhaust should be 3 years/60k miles as normal for faults etc - I expect it should lat longer than that anyway.

I was told the system is a full s/s one?

it doesnt look stainless, although the backbox does polish up nicely, anyone know for sure on the warranty front
-
I thought it was a year :undecided: regardless of mileage.
The exhaust isn't stainless steel , the tips are chromed but that is it!
I've got one under my house for an ED30 that has done 6k miles and 10 months work only if you needed one!

I have a standard GTI one too ... the exhuast graveyard.
Now thinking about it I would expect it to only be a year as problems would normally be down to wear and tear unless the cat was at fault then I would expect that to be covered. Might br worth calling the service dept to double check.

yeh, might do, i just think mine is a bit noisey, but i really dont wont to take the car in if i can help it, and wanted to combine it with a oil change if i could leave it for 6 months or so

....No, the standard GTI exhaust system is not stainless steel. The Milltek is and is also guaranteed for life of your ownership.
I've got a standard Mk5 GTI exhaust system for sale if anyone is interested. It's had less than 1,000 miles usage.

On another VW I had the catalyst started to break up after three years. They replaced it under warrenty as they said it should last longer than 3 years. Very Good I though.
