Title: Mk5 Golf 1.6FSI needs new Fuel Injection Pump
Post by: Richdmt on 07 May 2008, 15:47
Help....
My Girlfriends Mk5 has died  :sad:and she has taken it too the VW garage who say that the Fuel Pump has died and it also need a new fuel hose.  They have quoted £400+ is this reasonable? Does anyone know how difficult it is to DIY.  I've got a Mk3 GTI and do lots of stuff to that but not so confident on the MK5 any ideas?
Cheers

Don't worry I've spoken to the garage and it the high pressure Injection pump, so i dont think i will be doing it lol. but is this a standard thing to go???  She took it in to the garage (while it was still under warranty) because it was running really low MPG but they said there was nothing wrong!
