Last night I was taking the girlfriend home, and went past a camera which catches people if they run the red light, I thought it was a speed camera so I was slowing down to make sure I was under 30mph. I stupidly wasn't looking at the lights and I think I got flashed.
If this is the case, I'll get a £60 fine and 3 points on my license. Do I need to tell me insurance company this?
I'm so bummed about this because it was a genuine mistake, it was 11pm as well so no one around meaning no one got hurt but I'm gonna have to take the consequences.

Yep gotta tell them, cos unfortunately points don't mean prizes.
Doubt they will ask for more money, only will at renewal.
Mate at work did the same thing leaving london on the way to filming at 3 in the morning.

I know of some insurance companies see that as a bonus when you ring up £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£ :sick:

hate to break it too you, red light...means stop! :laugh: even if there is no-one for miles.
You have to tell them, it wont go up as said till renewal.

I've been speaking to various people around me about this camera and they said if it went off you woulda known about it because the light it gives up literally lights up the street where it is.
I don't recall that happening, so hoping it missed me lol!

I've been flashed 3 times now (2 speeding, 1 traffic lights) and so far all 3 of them have, I can only asume, not have film in them as nothing has come of it. My luck is going run out soon so must not let it happen again.
You never know mate, you might get away with it so dont get down about it unti you actually get anything through the post.

The only other thing I'm worried about now is on the way back from Manchester on the weekend (I live in Somerset) I literally was doing 100mph in the fast lane the whole way because I just wanted to get home. Motorway wasn't busy at all so was plain sailing but I wonder if I was caught by anything...

You cant go thourgh your driving life thinking like that, I'd be a nervous wreck if I did, and I can totally see where your coming from, put it this way, I wouldnt be driving the car I am now if any of them 3 flashes ended up in points (insurance costs). Give it two weeks and see how you get on, good luck mate.

Ive been flashed about 4 times by 1 speed camera when going around 40mph towards it :undecided: I should learn really!

I'll have to wait it out but I'm just being careful on the roads atm. I keep getting police doing checks on my license (I can tell they are because they follow me etc) but never pull me and my car does look modified and in Yeovil they hate us haha! Some more than others I can only presume.

I understand 100% what you mean when you say about being nervous/worried about speeding and getting caught. I do a bit sometimes, but i know plymouth well and know when to slow/speed. I know where every camera is in plymouth, so dont think i will ever get caught. I think i know which ones have no film and which ones are on/off - but i dnt risk it, just not worth it.
Me and my m8 had a mini race off the lights - quite funny - cause about 50-100 yards down the road was a speed camera for 30mph!!!!!!! so it lasted about 2 secs then brake like f*** :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
