Title: inspection
Post by: MarkD on 05 May 2008, 17:49
hiya,
my GTi is 12 months old this week, happy birthday to it

the car has covered 8000 miles.  I got a letter from the stealer this week (probably due to being 1 yr old) advising me to book the car in for 'an inspection'.

I thought the GTi advised itself when any service etc is due and Im assuming many on the forum havnt needed a service until the car is well past 12 months old?

Anyone else had a '1 year inspection'?
any issues with warrenty etc if i dont bother and just wait til the service is due?

regards
mark.

Service regime is either longlife or time and distance. Inspection service is the latter - approx £111 in the frozen north :smug:

Read the manual to reveal all - yes, even of you are a bloke

You should have at least an inspection service every 12 months IMHO as the longlife regime was only brought in to accommodate fleet drivers and therefore save company costs, nothing to do with Joe Public or the car itself - purely driven by finance

Get it serviced now
