Thanks mate....
Just gotta get the coloured caps that go over the screws and jobs a good un. Any ideas where from though..? Also need to find a way of fitting the centre caps as the wheel bearings push them off, might have to try spacers.
-
Looks good on the mk4 rims.
What are these caps you speak of? looks fine as is in my opinion
-
caps to cover the screws on the number plates, white black and yellow.
-
oh right thought you meant the alloys, i thought what is he talking about
-
have u changed the front grill on your VR...??.....it has 3 fins..?
-
No thats how i bought it, think its one of the older style grills as my previous 97 valver only had two fins.
Yours has 3 also..? thats what it looks like in your sig.
-
yeh, it does. mine was also like it when i brought it. i think mines had a front ender in the past and i thought maybe the grill had been replaced with the wrong one.......wasnt sure tho as i thought CL, GL and drivers had 3 fins

My 16v has two fins

i used 3mm spacers on my mk4 rims... but you will still have to prise the hub covers off... lots of lovely grease underneath but you will be able to get the centre caps on but you might have to flatten the split pins a bit
i have done this on my mk4 rims but this isn't advisable and mine is only temporary as I am not happy with this arrangement
as for the nut covers... the stealers is an option... but the mk3 nut covers are taller/deeper than the mk4 ones which are a different shape so they will stick out a mile on the mk4 rims you have
i used my original nut covers and cut them down to size with a hack saw and then filed them down and then polished them

Need some number plate screw caps

Forgot to say nice plates, wheels look better on mk3 than mk4 i think anyways. seem some sprayed smoked grey on mk3 looked well nice.
-
Thinking of eventually getting them powder coated in black and then painting calipers yellow, but gotta start a new job and get that outta the way before i do anything else.
-
i was second in line for these wheels daz, you beat me to them you bugger!!! that guy still hasnt replied to my other pms yet, do you know if he's still selling stuff??
-
Well when i went to pick up the wheels he was still taking stuff off the car so not sure what he has left but he was still selling bits last i knew.
-
Number plates I'm not a fan, but can see why you like them!
The grill isn't a GTI one. :afro:
The wheels look awesome, was going to get some before I got the BBS, 'new' nut covers fit the MK3 fine - I have them on mine!
-
I do like the number plates but the holes let them down  ... thats why i have plate holders fitted as there screwed to the car and the holder clips the plates on!
and as said the grille is normal golf!!
