Bit of back ground first. Broght my GTI late Feb 08, 55 plate so still has some warranty left. When i viewd the car for the first time i noticed a few 'blemishes' around the car on the paint work and also some scuffs and corrosion on the wheels. It was agreed that the wheels would be refurbished and the paint work sorted. When i collected the car it was dark but i did give it a good once over and everything looked 100%. Couple of days later when i was cleaning the car i noticed that the wheels had not been refurbished but repaired where the curbing was, the corrosion was still there (around the bolt hole's). I then noticed that 1 wheel had not been repaired around a 2mm part that the laquer was shot. I was straight on the phone and the woman was appologetic and said that the MD lived close by and would drop in a sort the wheel out. Due to my father-in-law passing away over easter i had not bothered chasing.
Im going to call them to say im not happy etc. Now, what i would realy like is a full set of replacements, preferably the Detroits as they will last much longer. As the car is coming upto 3 year old in November, how much chance do you think i have of them giving me the service i think i deserve? Also, how 'mardy' should i get?

I'd be fair, but firm. Just say that you are a member of an internet forum and that you know through the forum that VW are replacing Monza wheels under warranty as there is a known fault with the laquer getting "white worm". See what their reply is and if you don't get satisfaction then state that they said they would fully refurb the wheels before delivery and didn't and so you either want a full refurb or new wheels through warranty. My bet is they bottle it and go for new alloys through the warranty

Independent ot main dealer.
Former will probably refurb at best, latter will replace. Either way, get back on and get them sorted.
