Who thinks its gone into a bit of a shall i say UNHELPFUL forum.
Im a paid member on there under a different Username and must say i prefer this forum..
Seems to me more and more posts are turning into slanging matches with people not happy with differing opinions..
-
Does happen here occasionally!
Sarcasm is more widely used here though! Just that gets lost on some people!

Yes, but you can say the same for some of the threads on this forum. For example, MK2 vs MK3, MK3 16v or MK3 VR6 and so on...
Same with any forum. Everyone has an opinion so it's bound to happen.
I agree, this forum is much more helpful compared to other forums though.
-
dont mind sarcasm etc, but some of the responses to new members is crap.. Yes some of the threads can be sorted by a simple search but a great forum asset is the help others can give who have also learned from other peoples threads etc
-
I singed up with both at roughly the same time, yet post on here in preference.
Voting with feet, innit.

I have been on club gti for nearly two years, tbh I prefer that sight to this mainly because there are more of the types of cars I like on there.
I don't care for sticking bits to my car really - like a nice good standard ish GTi - modded golfs look awful in my opinion.... lots of people on club gti build track day cars (as I am) so find the techy ?? more relevant to what I am doing.
There is lots of slanging that goes on, myself included have had a few run ins and disagreements, but I have also been having a blazing row with some one on one thread and talking about a similar holiday with them on another!!!! lol its only forum banter, some people take it to heart etc, and I think people on club gti could do with being a bit nicer to new comers until they understand its just a joke....
-
correct, been on there ages so know what its like...Not had any probs myself but when you read some of the posts its just daft..
Will still be on there just probably not as much and lurk around here instead :-)
-
I sell parts easier on Club GTi ... but find more help on Golf GTi ... so both forums are equally good to me ;) even though im reppin' the Club GTi sticker on my car loll
-
Clubwho?
-
haha think its Club G (general) T (Twots) i (Insulting)
-
GolfGTI = top site :cool:
ClubGTI = overrated :angry:
-
I find the poeple on this one a lot more friendly and helpful compared to ClubGTi
-
People on Club GTi seem to think that unless things are expensive, they're crap, for example, even though no-one seemed to have even tried Hot Tuning coilies, everyone was keen to slag em off, just because theyre cheap
This site is more "real world", although I'm not slagging Club GTi, cos theres a lot of knowledge on there
-
Been on there a few times
not a member - only seem to used the Racers parts as its really really helpful
this place is good fun - the slanging matches are normally good natured banter
-
I got banned within 1 week of signing up there, for nothing. I've been here ever since. :)
-
i like it here, honest people who love their golfs etc.
Some clubs have too many boy/girl racers who just wanna hang out and drive like idiots around roundabouts.
This site is great, and so very friendly, even for people like me who have no mechanical knowledge at all.
-
I found that one first but was a bit shocked that you had to pay to be a member. Found this one afterwards and never bothered with anymore other than mk1oc.
-
so is this golfgti and the other one clubgti?
im confused.
So does that mean I can now book tickets for gti inters on the golfgti.co.uk then
im a prat aint I.
