My Golf GTI Mkv has started making a squeak/creaking sounding noise when i hit bumps in the road any one got any ideas on possible causes of this problem?
-
I'll move this to the mk5 section as most of them tend to be quite shy and not venture out to other sections too often.

Lol. cheers Gibby
Hi Drew and welcome to the forum
Which area of the car is it coming from? Front, Rear? Inside, Outside?
-
it will most likely be the drive belt.
-
I'm guessing at the anti-roll bar bushes, both my mk5's have done this.
-
The noise is coming from the rear of the car. cheers for the welcome

rear anti-roll bar bushes all day long. They just need a bit of lube

I had a squeeak and figured it was the rear parcel shelf. Get some lubrication put on the rubber parts of the parcel shelf. I used some vaselene, but you can try the proper stuf which is ...... bollocks I forgot the name but any motor shop should be able to advise!
