Title: Which bulbs for wing mirror lights?
Post by: Altered Carbon on 30 April 2008, 20:39
Any idea which fitment the bulbs are underneath the wing mirrors? I'm not sure if they're fitted to all models, or form part of the Lux pack - quite fancy changing them for led versions to get a 'whiter' light. I'm sure it'll look good against the white paint.

Cheers

Do you mean the 'puddle lights' Carbon? They are part of Lux pack 2 me thinks, had them on my last GTI, but not on the ED30  Can't see that there much different to number plate bulbs?? Have seen a few new lexus recently that look as though they have some fancy lighting for the no plate - looks bluey white  V Nice!

'Puddle lights' - that's the phrase I was looking for! They look a bit yellow - thought changing them to whiter led bulbs would improve things.

Wing mirrors is easy - fold forward the mirror a little but and you will uncover a small torx head screw holding the little light unit in place - unscrew and prise out.

I was going to change mine to whiter bulbs but noticed one wasnt working - even when I put a new bulb in so the dealer is going to be looking into that.

Sidelights in the headlights depends if you have Xenons or not as the unit is different.

i wouldnt mind whitey red / whitey blue bulbs in my wing mirrors rather than "council yellow".
Nothing chavy really, it just needs to be white with eaither a hint or red or blue

In the Xenon unit (from memory) the side light and indicator is in the same bit - I think there were some clips you have to get you fingers onto to release the bulb holder.
