Title: Reg Plate Supplier
Post by: Makaveli on 28 April 2008, 13:07
Can anyone recommend a reg plate supplier off the internet?  I found www.no1showplates.co.uk but not sure how good they will be.  I juts want a legal set of plates with the Euro GB at the side for my new number.

Or if anyone in the Edinburgh can recommend someone that would be great too

I used these, good quality plastic plates, and cheap IMO

'No documents provided' - thought the purpose of the current plate regs was to tighten up on the fly-by-nights and the criminal fraternity to reduce the potential of running on false or cloned plates

Was considering using http://www.craigsplates.com/ (http://www.craigsplates.com/) for a front vinyl plate on my previous car, but never got around to it. The site came recommended on another forum. They also have a forum of their own discussing various topics.

In Scotland you dont need your V5 for number plates as its an English law, unless you buy from Halfrauds at Edinburgh - Hermiston Gate where the manager states Halfords are governed by English law, Strangely doesnt affect the one in Livingston so that must be the official scottish branch.lol!

Aye they were well cheap - considering I had a look at a local garage and they were offering a much cheaper looking plate with Euro GB badge for £30!!!

Can't get pics up as the wife is away with the camera  :embarassed:

I too have recently replaced my illegal German style plates by purchasing from the dude on ebay...

about a tenner for both plates..

I think they are fine...i elected a 3d letter style, but tbh i think that the lettering could be of a better quality...that said, you gets what you pay for and at least I am now not giving plod a chance to stop me and meet his monthly target.

I thought A Plates aren't great.  the plates they sent me had letters that were see through in some parts.  on the yellow plate it looked crap.
I complained and they sent me another plate that was exactly the same!

I added the lines to show where the problem is.
