Title: Dodgy petrol gauge
Post by: Benny T on 27 April 2008, 13:13
Put £30 of petrol in yesturday and it filled to half a tank. Not long had the car so don't know if that normal.... it's 2.0L 8v. Nothing happend to the gauge after i put it in until i started the car again. Went to town and few local places, petrol went down to about between halfway and quater. Then when i drove it again it went back up to half a tank???

I used to have a 1.4 mk4 polo which would be filled on £35 so im really not used to spending loads on petrol. And i don't wanna be spending loads either! lol

Any help and advice apreciated

I had this all the time with my old 1.4. mk3 golf. I could put a fiver or a tenner in and suddenly i would have nothing untill i started driving. I just had to get used to judging how far i could go by remember how much i had. All seemed funny how i could go 10 - 15 miles with an apsolute zero reading :S. .lol
