Title: Fuel

Im not sure whats going on but im burning fuel like crazy, I got 33 miles out of 9 quids worth of fuel before the needle was in the red, I know the car is running rich because of how black my exhausts are but the garage doesnt think theres anything wrong with it.

Any ideas?? Are the Fuel Meters prone to braking on Mk2s?

Is it a digi or a k-jet?

I assume you've checked for any obvious leaks?

Other than what Rich said, forget the colour of the exhaust !!!

What you need to check for a rough idea of your mixture is the state of the plugs really ...
