Title: another temp warning question
Post by: raferackstraw on 26 April 2008, 12:59
hi have done a search and found some answers but need pointing in right direction

temp warning light flashing after warm up, coolant level is ok and  fan cuts in as usual no overheating at all

now i took out level sender and cleaned it up and shorted out wires to see if light still flashed and it still flashes

temp guage works fine so i dont think its the sensor in the block

could it be the instrument cluster itself?

right further to above checked for airlocks and run wiv cap off until it boiled over topped up and left running fan kicks in ok heater works fine

still engine does not overheat so im now thinking its a wiring or instrument cluster fault is there a dedicated relay for level sender?

light flashes on ignition and goes out when started but when temp needle gets to 1/4 it starts flashing

or if engine is fully warm and you switch off and restart light goes out temp needle rises to 1/2 and about 30secs later warning light starts flashing again

bl00dy wind up its never happened before
