mine is too mate hahaha, just fully re wired the headlights as the hids work different to normal lights so it would have been a fail, they now work just as they do on the company car mk 4 :)

was a bit of a job doing it tho but well pleased with the results, the lights are even brighter too as the dipped beam now had its own 12v feed :)

i think i just need to change 2 tyres

i ad big problems with my emissons it failed on every thing it possible could.it was about 10 times over on everything.so tried. temp sensor no . then lambda sensor no  then the cat and then still wouldend pass . so i changed air flow metre and that solved it thank god . does yours have emissions trouble all the time then.its my first gti and had nothing but trouble with it but its not the cars fault but the last owners.they dont deserve to drive vw's they should stick to fords the f**kers. its nealy all sorted now.a bit of tidyin here and there. failed mot on. 1/back brake pipe 2/dodgey back bulb holder 3/front lights to low due to bump on front 4/drive shaft gater pass side 5/a little hole in sill around drain hole .let me know wat u think its a l reg 94.

FAIL.

bloody emissions, poss exhaust blowing, going back in tomorrow to have a standard one fitted, off on hols next week so can't spare the pennies for a new stainless job, back to standard for this golf.

They are confident that this will solve the problem.

knocking never come up at all. Not even an advisory note.

My bro's MK3 has 159k, passed without even needing a bulb!  I just think that's testament to how strong these cars are.

I've got a 4 year old Z4 and it went in for it's first MoT last year to the local BMW dealership.  FAILED.

List as long as my arm!!

Wishbone Controller Arm
Discs/Pads all round
Steering rack
Tyres all round
wiper blades

And it had just had 2 new rear coil springs under warranty a month earlier.  The car only had 40k miles on it.

Luckily it's a company car and most of it was either wear and tear or otherwise warranty work.  Plus they did 4 wheel alignment on it as they removed the steering rack and had to remove the track rod ends.

Made me think though, if that was my own car i'd have been bankrupt!!

So the point is... VW ALL THE WAY!!

OK we have a passed MOT now, not bad about £130 in total.

new exhaust and flew through the emissions test.

not bad for a 12 year old car.

Not sure if there are any advisory notes yet as I pick the car up in about half an hour.

Back to standard on the exhaust though which is not fannytastic so will be saving my pennies for an upgrade, any suggestions for something sporty but not to loud?
