thanks. do they sell good quality bits?

I've bought stuff from them and it was fine although the PAS belt they sent me was too short :undecided:

Always put OE leads on a Digi 8v, they seem to run rubbish on anything but the pukka VW ones. I've had sets of GSF and ECP ones all cause missfire problems from new.

The ones I bought from AVS are very good ?

what about high temp leads with good insulation?
i say this as the daily has an ongoing thing with pinking. replaced the knock sensor (torqued correctly) and had it setup as per the guide but to no avail. i cant afford to have the head taken off for a decoke.

They do have the metal heat shields on them but if it runs that hot it might be worth getting a set that are made for very high temps :undecided:

the current leads are bosch and have heat shields too, but im unsure as to their age. the plugs are new. had 3 sets of plugs in 18 months and doesnt make any difference which brand i go for.

3 sets in 18 months, that cant be good :undecided:

plugs that is.
the first set were really bad went i got the car, probably just old. plus two spark plug holes were leaking (!) so i thought "new plugs and washers"
second set i fitted myself, no problem (im not retarded).
then the car started pinking, was probably doing it before but summer was setting in, perhaps it was just worse with the higher ambient temperature?
third set were fitted whilst the engine was being tuned, 3 electrode thingies. garage commented on the state of the second set, as timing was out and it was underfuelling.
fourth set fitted during a service a month ago and the guy said that the triple electrode plugs couldnt be cleaned adequately, so another new set...
two spark plug holes still leak very slightly.
