Title: What TDi models are there?
Post by: Trickyboy on 23 April 2008, 23:50
I'm aware there are 110, 130 and 150 right? What's different about the engines?

SDI 75 non turbo
TDI 90
TDI 110
TDI 115 PD
TDI 130 PD
TDI 150 PD

first one is self explanatory

90 and 110 i think are common rail diesel engines

115, 130 and 150 use the Pump Duse system where each cylinder has a high pressure injection unit

go for the 110 engines or the PD engines as they give you the best overall performance and economy and coupled with a remap surprises a few people

i would certainly recommend going for the 150 pd engine as the gains you can get are awesome. they also benefit from a front mount intercooler as standard and i was gonna get forge motorsport to custom build one for mine but said they couldn't improve on the original. with a remap, decat and induction kit, mines touching almost 200bhp and it goes like stink. even some of the scoobies don't stand a chance.
