Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what 'extras' the Anniversary edition actually had over standard.
Seems to me VW were very stingy with them?
Here's what I know:
Anniversary Body Kit
Anniversary calipers (not sure if the brakes were actually upgraded or is it just colour!?)
Anniversary Recaro (cloth) interior
Anniversary Gear Knob
Anniversary Steering Wheel
Anniversary Pedals
Anniversary Floor mats
Anniversary headlights (are these Xenons?)
Anniversary BBS wheels (prone to corrosion!)
Anniversary Suspension (lower than standard)
Chrome exhaust tailpipe
Aluminium dash trim.
Red detailing on seat belts, steering wheel and handbrake.
Gamma headunit and 6cd changer.
25th Anniversary numbered plaque.
Can anyone confirm that it doesn't (even) come with the following as standard:
Cruise Control?
Heated Seats?
Winter pack?
Auto Dimming mirror?
Does anyone know what else was changed over the standard GTi? Is the engine actually any different than the TDI 150 as I'm interested in the Diesel version, I know the petrol one was 180bhp.
Thanks, Rich

I think they were the first Golf to get the 150 TDI engine :undecided:
Red calipers were part of upgraded brakes for the GTI - 288mm - 312mm although the V6 came with these as standard
Headlights aren't xenons - just smoked normal ones
don't think you could specify much in the way of options either
still wouldn't say no to one though
-
black headlining
anniversary clocks (same as bora sport)
higher insurance group
as far as options went you could option in cruise or parking sensors

anniversary was 2002 wasn't it?
TDI 150 PD came out in 2001 IIRC
-
higher insurance group
Must be the reason they are a premium over standard 150 tdi's

So...
question is, should I go for an Annivsersary or well specced TDi 150...?

From what I can tell ESP is standard on the Anniversary
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/equipment/Detail.aspx?deriv=23251
and not on the TDI 150

Anyone confirm?

ESP was standard from apr 2002
the main difference you're going to find between the 2 is that the TDI 150 is more that likely going to have full leather and xenons, those you can't have in the anni.
the other choices you'll get with the 150 is 3 or 5 door (could be an issue) and colour the anni only came in silver, red and black
you also need to consider the extra price tag for the anni and higher insurance group

Thanks.
If I could find a decent spec'ed TDI 150 then i'm happy to go for that, just good to keep my options open I guess.
