Title: G&M Shocks and Springs?
Post by: fomus on 19 April 2008, 17:25
Has anyone ever fitted G&M shocks and springs?

From what i have been told by the people at elite direct they come with a 2 year manufacturers guarantee and are worth the money. Was just after a little bit of cheap drop for my mk2.

Does anyone else have any recommendations if these are rubbish?

Never heard of them tbh, but how much are they for the set?

About £200 i think. Didn't want to spend tonnes as its only a ryder and i only need it to last me another year or so just fancied it a bit lower whilst i have it.

I can't say i have ever seen them anywhere other than elites when i was getting a tire done.

If you are just after a cheap drop for a Ryder then i would say go for a set of Boge turbo shocks (£100 new) and either some Boge springs or a second hand set of springs. Really you could get a barely used full set up for half of what you would pay for the G&M stuff.

Having said all that though, i have no idea about the quality of the G&M set-up

Yup, I've got a set on the way as we speak!

Click me (http://vwmk2golfowners.f.xaviermedia.com/viewtopic.php?t=540&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&mforum=vwmk2golfowners) for all the info you need. Might have to wait a while for the rest of the list to fill up though, I think this is the 3rd or 4th time round now!
