Title: A visit to Audi.........
Post by: Hurdy on 19 April 2008, 17:08
............leads to much confusion :undecided:

I think I'm in love....with the TTS(http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t222/biarmampus/emoticon/love14.gif)(http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t222/biarmampus/emoticon/love14.gif)(http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t222/biarmampus/emoticon/love14.gif)

I've only seen the standard TT in the flesh, but the book on the TTS gives statistics that are hard to ignore.

245/40/18 tyres = extra grip
Standard 0-62 in 5.2 secs
4wd
Only  188g/km - so in the same group as the GTI for emissions
Xenons standard with DRL's
Audi magnetic ride - 'S' version - 10mm lower ride height
2 tone silk nappa leather
TTS enhanced braking system
Flat bottom MFSW standard
Quad exhausts

Somebody stop me quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My old tennis coach was called Julian and had long curly hair, i'm sure he drives a TT

S3 doesn't do anything for you?

It does, just not in the way the TTS does.

It's heavier
Suspension is less refined
Looks like all othe A3's
Only comes in manual (must have DSG)
225 section tyres = less grip
Standard power is less
Cannot specify Magnetic ride.

Such a shame..

Plus you'd have to deal with Audi dealerships..... There a lot worse than the VW ones.

The only reason I sold my Audi 3.2 Quattro was because of the dealerships.

Title: Re: A visit to Audi.........
Post by: R32UK on 19 April 2008, 18:13
Difference is you can get 5drs and stuff in the boot of the R32. You can forget all that with the tt. oh yeah.. did I mention a V6??

Whats the list of the TTS?
Title: Re: A visit to Audi.........
Post by: Hurdy on 19 April 2008, 18:18
That's just it though. The missis would be having either my ED30 or the TTS and I'll keep the ED30 .

Hehe,

Cheaper insurance too as My 3 points became 5yrs old plus yesterday

I've been thinking that all along.

300bhp plus in a 4wd 1400kg car with good suspension and a low centre of gravity

I feel for you Hurdy, I used to have an amulet red TT 225bhp roadster, and have heard all the hairdresser jokes before   I also have the TTS brochure and am seriously contemplating it as opposed to a red GTI.

I have to chuckle when I hear the hairdresser quips, never did I get so much pussy attention from women as when I drove the roadster. Seriously.

More power, less weight...
Title: Re: A visit to Audi.........
Post by: Hurdy on 19 April 2008, 18:58
whats the TTS got over the normal model

Normal 2.0TFSI TT doesn't have:-

4WD
272psi (standard model gets 200psi)
MFSW
quad exhausts
Uprated suspension
Magnetic ride
18" wheels (makes do with 225/45/17s)
Enhanced braking system
2 tone Full leather ( it has alcantara and leather)
xenons
Heated seats
Extended leather package
floor mats.
Short shift gearbox (if you choose manual)
Aluminium trim door mirrors.
Bulkier bodykit and TTS logo's everywhere!

Oh no....I'm getting that warm feeling again! :lipsrsealed:

Hurdy, when i went and collected "Phylis" the ed30 on friday ( the wife calls it not me) i was looking at the evo 10, with double clutch same as the lovelly DSG. u might wanna go have a look at one of those, good size and has all the bells n wistles, mind you,£32000 , u havent got kiddies so boot size wont be a problem for you CUS IT HAS A MASSIVE SUB WOOFER WHICH FILLS HALF OF IT!
Title: Re: A visit to Audi.........

Considering youv mentioned it i think i would wait for the Nissan GT-R..another thing about kids is at the moment you may not have any but you never know what might happen in the future
TTS is really nice but im sure its nothing compared to the GT-R and practicality of it cant be close to the ED30

I think I remember someone saying it was way over priced (topher possibly) and that he could turbo his for a lot less. Would be alot more fun to do it yourself too. 450bhp sounds like a nice number to me

(Just in case anyone is wondering... I am secretly trying to get someone else to turbo their R32 to save myself from doing it!)
Title: Re: A visit to Audi.........
Post by: Hurdy on 19 April 2008, 19:46
I think i'll probably keep the ED30 come what may :cool:and see just how far I can take a road legal FWD car

The missis is tempted with a house move and so my bonus would be a larger garage/s and flat drive and whatever we don't spend would go on a new motor  I just hope she....errr...we don't spend it all

1. If you want female attention get one (not sure how the miss'es would feel about that)
2. If your miss'es is going to drive it 99% of the time then get it
3. If you like looking at men then get one (again, not sure how the miss'es will think about this)
4. If you want people to think your a hairdresser then get one
5. If you've got money to burn then get one.

1. If you want a "mans" car then get the R32 / S3
2. If you want a drivers car then get the R32/ S3
3. Add a remap
4. Smile

My friend is a really good driver though, just poor taste in cars IMHO

Nissan GT-R now there's a nice car - shame the price tag for the UK doubles from what it would be in Japan.

No offence to the R32 boys but whats the point saying 'just get an R32' why when he has the Ed30 already :puts-on-R32-flame-suit:

I doubt you find many "hairdressers" driving round in a MK2 TT, especially on the order book for a TTS.  I used to own a MK1 TT and I don't see hairdressing on my CV - although I reckon I could give someone a number 4  :nerd:

IMO Scirocco looks boring compared to MK2 TT - TTS just rocks and I reckon a lot of people on here would have one if given the chance and you would all be on the TT forum slaggin off Golf drivers
