Fault finding the oil pressure system atm.
I know the car has good oil pressure.
Just need to know, when you switch the ignition to the 'ON' position before you start the car
what should the oil pressure light do?
should it be constantly on as a test, flash or be off.
Cheers
James

mine flashes. i dont know if its how its ment to be, but i know my oil is well topped up ect.

I was thinking the exact same thing this morning, as mine was flashing. I would have thought its a diag thing and nothing to worry about - as my oil level is just a notch below the max marker. Only when it beeps should it be an issue.
-
i did an oil change earlier and light still flashes, its a normal thing i guess.

if you start the car and the light stays on... then you need to worry!
-
the light should flash, because funily enough when the engine isn't running you have low oil pressure

Another handy thread!.. I swapped the head on my 8v recently and ever since i did the oil light constantly flashes and stays on when slowing down?? Have checked all the connections too... :undecided:

Change the pressure sensor for a known good one before doing anything else. When you changed the head, did you remove the sensor? If so, was it clean when you refitted it??
