Title: Nothin happenin
Post by: RiCHiE360 on 19 April 2008, 00:48: Right jumped in ma car tonight turned the key and theres nothin happenin at all, can hear fuel pump goin thats it, tried jumpin it and nothin happened either? everythin seems to have power and no lights showin up :laugh:

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas what it could be?

Its a 97 8v

Post by: kells on 19 April 2008, 01:06: sounds like it could be the ignition switch, mine did similar, did it pretty oftern in the end till i changed it. would start fine one day and do similar to this other times, then 10 mins later it would be fine

was a complete nightmare on mine matey yes hahah i thought u would remember ahaha, but the symptoms are the same so it looks like it could be that to me, in the end minw got to the stage of not starting all day, infact it wouldnt start at all!!!..

i managed to mess with the wiring to get it fired up tho :laugh: :lipsrsealed:

yeah see what they say, you might find its not that, but as i said,the symptoms are deffo the same, had green flag out at mine 3 times till it finally gave up for good, its never done it since putting the new switch in

Was relieved when it was the starter and not the ingnition tho pal :tongue:

really, its about the only part i didnt know the price on is the starter, mine is a bosch one...

Nice one dude, i thought it sounded like the starter mota from your description! Cant you get one from a scrappy cheap?
