Just bought a private plate from the DVLA for my car seeing as how those damn 08 numbers are out!
Anyway my question is do I have to go in person to the DVLA office or can I post them my form and documents? It is just that I live and work nowhere near the DVLA offices!
Anyone know if this can be done?

From the DVLA website:
What do I need to do when I am ready to put my personalised registration mark onto my vehicle?
You will need to apply to your local DVLA office. You can apply by post or in person although during busy times you may have to collect your documentation later. The reverse of your certificate will describe the documents you will need to accompany your application. Please note that the purchaser of the registration mark will need to sign section 4 of the V750.
So it seems like you can.

You can put it on by post no problem, just takes longer.
In person is quick as you can assign it immediately with the correct bits, you just can't transfer a plate immediately now you have to wait 7 days (so you know for the future).
