Title: What do you think?
Post by: Hurdy on 16 April 2008, 13:47
I saw a Porsche Turbo the other day and was strangely drawn to the wheels. Along with the R8 wheels they are the only ones I've found that i really like. See the link below:-

Hurdy.... Please dont do that.

I think that the Cayman S Rims look extremely sexy on a Gti. (I have pics I can post up on a white GTi) but the other Porsche Rims look

I've said Buy, Buy, Buy.

Though I do think the 459's look more dramatic, though it could just be a better photo.

I've just looked at the price   Though with the amount of money you spend on CF I'm guessing cost doesn't feature high on your factor list

OH!! i know the ones you want, my Dad had them on his turbo and took them off after 2 weeks as he didnt like them, he replaced them with some 20" black split rims with a 4" deep chrome dish on the back

Just a thought but these will be 5x130 PCD and the Golf is a 5x112 PCD.  The Centre bore is also different as i would assume these are direct bore at 71.6.  You need to find a locating ring down to 57.1.

But as you have a money tree i suspect a set of Porsche hubs and on the shopping list

Joe. The rims you posted look terrible on a silver GTi let alone any other GTi.

Just my opinion. But the Cayman S Rims look

I'm not feeling the vibe for the Cayman S alloys. They look good on the Cayman, but I'm unsure about the Golf.

Any more alternatives anyone?

New 911 Turbo wheels look awesome as per that pic. I've seen a few others in the U.S with them and I really like them.

Go for it I say

Haha, Tatoo is off now, it was never going to be a permanent feature.

I've got a set of Eibach Pro Street S coilovers to go on the beast

Off topic a little. But Hurdy do you think it could have been your lighter bonnet which lost a little bit of weight off your front end, inturn caused a little lost traction??

Hurdy - how can you go for those mingers when you've got a gorgeous set of GT3 wheels a bit further down the page (style 1052).  Those Turbo wheels just don't look right on one side of the car, being assimetrical.

I agree with Dubaiphil...i really really like the GT3 alloys and im sure would look nice on your ED30...not sure if you guys have seen it either but the new Lambo Gallardo LP560-4 sits on some very very nice alloys...i cant seem to find a good enough pic but on the lambo website you can see it there...i cant save pics from there as the website runs on macromedia (i think) but deffinatley worth a look!
