Post by: mat-ryder on 15 April 2008, 22:54
Am i right in assuming that the extra plug into the rear door speaker in my mk3 gti is for the tweeter?

You are right.

If you unplug one of them it'll either turn both off, or just the tweeter, I plan on unplugging the rear tweeters when I get my install sorted.

this is the back of the door speaker, you can see the plastic connectors, I want to splice the cables together and crimp on spades, so that I have 2 cables connecting to the back of my pioneer replacement speakers. But which wires do I splice together ??

here are the cables, 2 into each of the black connectors

and here are the dash top tweeters, also with 4 cables into 2 connectors
