Hi,

I've just been searching out vw forums and came across this one.  I've just placed down a deposit for a VW Golf T GTI this evening, after selling my civic type-r at the weekend, I've had to get a cheaper car to afford a bigger house.  Anyway....

Aside from me making my first post, I was wondering if anyone can suggest an alternative stereo system to that pre installed in my new Golf, there is a CD but I've not seen a tape player in a car for ages...

Any suggestions would be gratefully received...

Yep a tape player.  I forgot to mention it's a 2000 registered mk4...  I was still suprised with the tape player though.  If anyone can recommend an alternative system that occupies the area of both the tape player and CD player above it I would appreciate it.  Alternatively is there a surround or similar to occupy the CD slot whilst I gat a standard CD player to go where the tape / radio sits.

I think I've seen a pic somewhere where some guy has done similar.

Again any help would be gratefully received.
