After the rather damp afternnon at the GTi fest I started removing the carpets from my cabrio and found this.....

It's a little hard to see but there are a few mouse droppings round the gear lever mount.
Also I found this

That would be a load of shredded up newspaper that I assume was it's nest.
I have yet to find the mouse in question in the car but last week I did find one drowned in a flowerpot in the garden. At the time we presumed it was just local or the cat had it, but now I'm thinking it probably came out when I removed the seats and ran off.
I can see myself removing the dash or something and finding more mouse related evidence.
I guess this is what you get when you buy a car with a ripped roof that's been sat in a barn for 4 years.

I just don't like spiders...or birds....or mould that grows on your window rubbers..

lol!!
i had a stray cat living in my camper and when i tried to get it out it bit me and scratched up my hand. it swelled up so bad i had to go to a and e and have a jab s well as having to wear a bandage for a month grrr

i'd like a pet in my car.. all i've got in a monkey from vegas.
-
That damn green stuff on window rubber....
I scrubbed that off the first week I had the car and it's already growing back. Considering the weather though, I'm not surprised.
I cleaned the entire interior out this weekend and there was no mouse to be found.
I only need the one pet in the car anyway. It makes a funny noise, it pisses green stuff into the boot and I have to feed it all the time and sometimes just refuses to do anything. It's called the power roof hydralics.

i'm glad i have a manual roof. that was teh best decision i made about the cab :)
-
I need to check over mine tbh - once ive sorted elecs..
watch for mould on the roof too darl...just noticed some on mine the other day - used the autoglym stuff to get it off but reckon i need to search around for a better product if possible..

I have got to strip the roof down before I have it replaced. I can see through the holes that the inside of the headliner is all covered in mildew and mould.
I think the seals on the pistons have gone, so thats gonna be one to strip down once I've got the MOT done.

my roof is gross... needs a new one soonputting it off until summer
-
As soon as I get my MOT done, I'm getting the roof done. Found somewhere who'll come out and replace the outer skin for about £250.
Sweet....

You getting a black mohair Han?
You going mohair or vinyl M?
Im sure the liner will scrub up no bother thou?
if your taking it off, check the rear windscreen - notorious for rust mate..
even if you sand paper it down and whack on a couple of coats of hammerite..

I'm not 100% sure what I want to get, but mainly I'm probably gonna go for vinyl because it's a bit cheaper. Secondlly I wasn't sure about blue or black. I'm probably gonna go black hood with black wheels then add some subtle chrome bits here and there. Should make a nice combination.
Definatlly gonna check the frame, but MOT is first priority. From what I could see, the frame is in pretty good nick.
I'm sure on various pictures of your cab Dinx you've had both black and blue hood have you not, or am I going mad. Seeing as yours is the same colour as mine, got any recent pics so I can decide?

No darl..always had blue although when i had the vinyl hood, you could say it looked black..

Ohhhhh.....
Now I really can't decide. I like the blue vinyl, and I really like the blue mohair.
I think, if I can afford it I'm gonna go with black mohair.
One day, it will be finished.....
