well I have finally started to tackle the mess i call an engine and have bought a spare rocker cover a spring clean... what do you think?

and its even getting serviced next week.................first time in 2 years :lipsrsealed:

Smart dude, not sure on the red screws though dude. They'd look better cleaned up with some wire wool

is there any secrets to painting your own cover? any particular paints/processes?

yeah it's your old one...and it took some cleaning up!! if any one else wants to try use nitromores,a spraper and lots of wet n dry and a few days of hard labour
oh yeah bolts swapped for black now :cool:

get it on the car mate...will make a huge difference will that, they always look good colour coded to paintworks too

yeah I'm gonna give her a service next week and will change the rocker while I'm there....and maybe clean the engine up?

good stuff, aslong as your lump is pretty clean, with the new rocker cover it will transform it all...

Looks good, and well, ur bay is far better than mine, plenty of space for a super charger lets be honest!

when i polished all my engine up i didnt need to replace the seal as on the 2e is a rubber type gasket, but since then iv had to replace it due to it leaking, cost me(with my discount) 9 quid from the dealers, usually about 16 quid i think

gasket bought from vw today £13.26 with vat...no excuse not to get it fitted now

well its fitted and the car has had a service..... still a few bits of cleaning to do in there before summer...but it looks beter allready

Agreed. I like it in red with the VW badge unpainted. Very nice. :)
