The guy will take 300 for it and I can get it delivered for 99 quid tomorrow
Asked him all the usual stuff and the car seems fine except for a few little bodywork issues and the cars been de locked but the central locking kit hasn't been fitted, was thinking just get a lock kit from gsf.
what do you guys think???
-
thats over 400 fella for a car that needs welding! i wouldnt go anywhere near it to be honest!
-
ok update, work sent me on a little trip up to middlesboro so didnt end up doing anything about it anyways. I would of thought 400 was a good price, where do you get them so cheaply then? I havent seen many under that price.
-
i'd never buy a car without seeing, and at the end of the day it's your car, and get one in the spec that you want.
i'd still advise making a checklist of exactly what you want and don't want, considering your own capabilites for fixing too!
it's your decision not ours.. not our money!
-
there`s been no bids so you may get it for £200 then get it delivered for £99 gives you £101 for the welding it needs sorted ,
i`ve had some good buy`s without viewing, but you win some you lose some
-
ive bought far too many things and cars without looking first and to be honest if you prepare yourself for the worst you'll never be dissapointed.
I wouldn't expect alot from sub 400 quid cars, im after 350 and i have a near fully stripped GTI shell.
you get what you pay for in this world, you might get a strong engine but weak body or tatty interior, or mind bodywork but no engine etc.
swings and roundabouts. do you know anyone who can do welding for you? again as you dont have a drive youd be better off buying a car with tax and mot and doing small jobs to get it mint that diving in with a FULL resto project
good luck whatever you get tho fella
-
Again thanks for all the comments lads. Yea you do get what you pay for that is very true. Well im buying a house this year hopefully so ill have a drive soon!
-
yeah it is your choice at the end of the day fella! but to be honest i wouldnt buy a car that needs welding if your looking at making it a minter! if it just day to day driving then maybe? it takes time to find the right one took me 9 months! iv had my cab since i was 19 im 24 now so it's defo worth getting one with a sloid shell! plus when i spend money on it not so bad lol!
-
if the hood is new and its mohair then that alone is worth £200 the inner hood liner does'nt look too bad so worst comes to worst you can sell the hood and probably recoupe your money
-
yea thats wht I was thinking.....
Still undecided
-
Do it
You want a project so ya might aswell start with soemthing that need work
As for not seeing a car up close , my last 2 golfs ive bought without even seeing pictures , yous pays ya money ta takes ya chances
if its a bin , break it n sell the bits
-
yea just spoken to the guy again and its done 200K!!!!!!!!
what do you recon?
Leave it or do it?
-
fella what do you think! i mean when you find the right car i think you know? i mean i seen 8 cars before i got mine some were trash heaps and some were just not quite right! no matter what people say 300 is kind of an expensive mistake! you know i couldnt be making mistakes like that but its up to you! fella if your paitent you will get the right one!
