Title: Fuel Accumulator
Post by: StephenEggo on 17 April 2004, 16:04
I have a 1990 Mk2 GTI 16V that is leaking fuel slightly. It looks to me that it is the fuel accumulator and the 2 fuel pipes that connect to it. The unit itself and the pipes are corroded so they both need replacing.
I went into my local vw dealer and was shocked to be told that the acccumulator costs ?150 and the pipes cost ?27 each. Does anyone out there no where I could find these parts cheaper?

Might be able to find a good one at the scrappy :-\

If you do, I'd recommend reprotecting it all before fitting so it doesn't happen again.

yup certainly did a shed load of waxoil and those little rubber feet that hold the reservoir on are a pain in the ar5e as well to get off ,another vw rip off at ?3 odd for each foot.

Stevy,

I was stung by VAG similarly last year although I only needed the accummulator and one pipe.

I found out after I had ordered that German Swedish could do the accummulator for either ?60 or ?80 - I can't quite remember, but it certainly was only a fraction of VAG costs.

I hope that this helps

I wouldn't get one from GSF as it will probably be leaking inside a week  ;)
