Title: ED30 black rear valance
Post by: hotrod on 13 April 2008, 07:31
Hi guys,

Am I right in thinking that the ED30 rear valance trim (tail pipe trim) is easily removable? I have seen some cars on the net with it painted black and it really breaks up the bulk at the rear. I want the look to be clean and OEM... ie no fins, no carbon (sorry RR & Hurdy)... nice & simple.
I suppose I could always buy an original VW ED30 solid black one?

I’m contemplating either a respray or an aftermarket application, does anyone have any pics, contacts etc.

Thanks... Hotrod

Parking sensors go in the top section of the bumper which is identical for all mk5 golfs

I've no idea sorry mate, I'll be letting the bodyshop do all the removal. Fingers crossed it will be a perfect job  :undecided:

....Surely if someone is concerned about how 'limited' edition their Ed30 is, they won't want to mod it at all? :undecided:

Good point RR,

I was hoping to get a black replacement and keep the original, just like I’m doing with the rear LEDs.

....I had a chat with Mark this morning and asked about your LED's - One damaged on arrival? That Loders group of dealer plus bodyshop make a great team. He's going to straighten my Milltek back box but only wanted his best mechanic on my car so asked if I could wait until next week! It's the same at the dealers - Ian always allocates the best mechanics and never an apprentice.

I assume you are still enjoying your Ed30 [what a stupid question!!]

Does anyone have other pics of Edition 30s with the lower section painted black?

Hi RR,

Yeah loving the ED. It’s starting to feel like my car now... it’s taken a while though! Really handles the bends well and I’m used to the firm ride. Glad I went for white... bit of a leap of faith. One of the LEDs was slightly scratched, should have replacement this week.

Just saw a new white Beemer M3... looked sweet.

Dan the man helped me out with a slight squeak in the workshop, very helpful.

Take it easy... hotrod
