Don't know thats a new one.

If they pop out you could grab one or put some thing across the opening to stop them returning. Just mind your eyes

i thought of that, but i reckon that would damage the motor, all i want to do is check my drivers side one as it looked ever so slightly loose the other day, which is ok as long as it doenst fall off, i just want to make sure all is ok

Do they have a motor or do they walk with water pressure?

Have you tried looking in TT's manuals?

just pull up to the kerbside, make sure you have too much soap in the screenwash bottle, put the lights on and pull the lever!. great fun for spraying annoying teenagers with hoodies on. My laser blue GTi used to have a extremilly powerful jet!.
I dont know why would you wanna inspect them , if both are jetting water on the lenses then whats the problem??. like whats been said, you could bust the motor and nozzle jets.

Maybe it is a job for someone who knows about the intricacies of VAG-COM?

I'll hook mine up to Vag Com and see if I can get them to stay out somehow, maybe theres a test feature or something. I'll post back what I find.

Hmmm all I can find is
-Adjust headlight washer delay and activation
-The headlight washer delay and activation can be adjusted via bytes 5 and 6.
-To disable the headlight washers, uncheck byte 1, bit 1.

cheers for trying, its probably fine as i think they pivot slightly when they are out, so this is just a slight bit of play

I think so, you just need to be careful not to pull of the colour matched cover.
