Hi Everyone,
Basically the car was overheating and such so thought the head gasket was gone. So I changed the head coz it wasnt very good, the head gasket, water pump, new thermostat, full service, put it back together and it doesnt seem to be running that nice. Has a whining noise and after driving for a few minutes the oil pressure light came on.
Then after leaving it for a few hours, came back out to start it and found the light still on. Does this mean I have no oil pressure? Or what could be the cause?
Thanks for any contributions

could be a knackered oil pump, mine has a problem getting pressure after you change the oil.
i dont think its too difficult to replace, remove the sump and all should be revealed.

As said, change the oil pump is really easy, could be that or even the plastic baffle plate thingy which should be on the bottom of the strainer has broken up and is blocking the pick up.

Just an idea, but first you could check all your cambelt sprockets are tight/aligned, and that the cam belt is tensioned correctly, as that drives the oil pump.

cheers guys Ill change the oil pump and see if that has any luck. iwll take a look at the belts too as timing was just done.
