anyone had this problem?
Rear nearside door wont open. The handle only pulls out half the normal distance?
-
Nope - but I pi$$ my girlfriend off by not pressing the key fob twice to open the passenger side sometimes - maybe something similar but guess having had a previous 5 door you already know how to unlock and open - sorry for being no help
Maybe the lock has failed or something to do with child lock?????
-
yeah, it feels like something like a rod has jammed in a guide, the kids door lock is armed so maybe thats causing it. oh well back to dealer i go!. Typically im off to cornwall Monday for a quick 5 day break in the car, so i spose im lucky i have 3 other doors to pick from!!!.
I wonder if the cars trying to tell me something.Went out and had a look at an Ed30 today to possibly purchase.

Got my Edition 30, and within 2 days my passenger door wouldnt open!
It was p155ing rain and I was going to take my girlfriend out for a nice drive in my new car - but instead she stood at the door waiting for me to open the car!!! She eventually got in the back and I drove to my stealer... who kept the car for 10 days till they ordered new parts... and then knackered my inside door trim - which took another 2 weeks to get!
What fun I had driving a Polo 1.2 when I'd just paid almost £25k for my Ed30... NOT AMUSED!!
Aparently the deadlock had failed, and had remained shut. The only way they could get in was to prize the door panel off from the inside!
The also replaced my front grille at the same time as it has a big scratch next to the number plate!
-
yes, well either way, its a warranty claim, and yes, the door trim would have to be removed, and hopefully they wont destroy the door card in getting to the dead lock mechanism.
Either way not concerned, log book still hasnt arrived for it!!!! as ive only had it 3 weeks or so, so must be still being sorted by the dvla.
