im going on saturday to look at a 2000 reg mk4 gti, the 1.8 T model, is there any advice i can get as to what to look for when viewing it? rust hot spots, turbo problems etc?
also can anyone tell me the difference between the silver badged 1.8 t GTI and the Red I one?
thanx alot

More often than not the red "i" GTI's are the turbo models BUT apparently it was the dealers job to fix the lettering on, so the red i technically means nothing, especially as by now as some will have been replaced by their owners.

By the way, this has been asked before so you could look in the Mk4 section for similar threads.

What are you expecting to pay for this car? Whats the mileage etc.

The guy probably just wants a new car. Stop putting ideas into his head about all the modding and other types of Golfs...
f**k it, get a MK2 16v or MK2 1.8T conversion!
