The cone should be the same bore and should fit. But just by fitting the cone to a 1.8t will reduce engine performance due to engine heat soak.  Go for the extension pipe which takes the cone to behind the bumper where the intake air will be cooler which can extra power. There is a guy on ebay doing a full mk4 induction for around £40 his user ebay name 800bhp  I have used items from him a few times.

Get this pipe then find a K&N Cone or any branded cone with water proof nylon cone cover for the winter time.

Hello

This kit he is sellling will be good alll year round.  but the cone is a cheap chinese unbranded type which has not under gone mass testing so I would go for a tried and tested branded cone.

Nylon water proof cover will stop the induction sucking up large amounts of water in th wet months due to the new position of the cone.  some people dont use them but I have had a few cars in with them fitted and they seem a good idea.
