Hi there, was having a look under my mk2 8v the other day and noticed a couple of large holes in different places along the exhaust, its got pretty noisey now so i want to fit a new one. What would be the best exhaust to fit? i want to change it right back to where the 2 pipes go to one and i want to keep the twin pipe style at the back, i'm also keen on getting one as quite as possible. I'm not really sure where the best place to get one from is or what sort of one to get so your help and opinions would be appreicated. Cheers.

sounds like your on about your manifold, and these are usually really strong and dont get random holes, unless some1 drilled it.
anyway back on track, just repalce it with standard parts or (OEM) parts, there are a few mk2 golfs being 'broken' on the site, have a hunt around and get a price as a new one can be a tad on the pricey side

The manifold is fine its just the rest of the exhaust from there to the back box is buggered

oh right ok, so from the mani to the back box you want to replace, right well you have 2 choices, after market performance exhaust or standard (oem) exhaust.
if your after just a standard zorst then do as i said go onto the classified section, onto the other parts section and there are a few mk2 gtis being broken for parts.
if your after a performance zorst then either a scorpian or ashly system are nice and pretty quite compared to thers

or if you want something that will never rot through again, pop down to your local powerflow agent who can custom make one to your own design, and to your own noise preference, in stainless steel.
will cost you though, about £300 i think
