Title: throtle problems on my 1.8t 20v

hello everybody just joind the site and need some help. ive got 1.8turbo and when i come off the power the engin jolts.it jolts that hard that you can feel the rear gearbox mount hit the floor.any idears what it is and how to solve it

Pop the bonnet, get some one to sit in the car with the handbrake on an in 1st gear, lift the clutch and rock the engine using the clutch on and off.

You should then be able to see where the mount if broken

ive already ordered the mount.do you think that would cause the throtle problem.

Do you have throttle cable or DBW?


It could be just down to the mount, when the engine is on load the engine will move out of position countering the engine rotation then as soon as you lift of the adverse transmission affect will flick the engine the oposite way. 

Best bet is to change faulty mount and see how it runs afterwards.

thanks for the advice,as soon as i get the mount ill put it on and let you know the result.hope it solves the problem
